Whats with the SOAP,deoderant, nailclippers... and Small Bills?
Why does any one pack small bills? what do you expect to have to buy, a pack of gum?
If you are packing currency, roll up a fat stack of hundreds, or dont even bother.
My "bug out" gear is a knife, wool socks and a toothbrush.

Other ideas: Benadryl (in case of allergic reaction to insect stings, etc.), sunblock, bandana, mosquito netting (perhaps just the hood that fits over your head), leatherman tool, moleskin, more moleskin. How about a sheet of plastic or lightweight tarp for shelter? Five days of clothing is a lot to pack...maybe three days of clothing and five days of underwear and socks? Is you paper the waterproof type? What do you intend to use the space blanket for? (If it's one of those thin ones, a heavy-duty garbage bag keeps you just as warm, hides you better, folds back up better, and doesn't make horrible, annoying, sleep-defying crinkling sounds every time you move a millimeter!)

i gave up on a 3-5 day BOB
i figure anything bad enough to make me bug out will definitely be some serious sh!t
and thus for the last year, i've been making caches out in the county

ask yourself
what if, whatever makes you bug out, lasts for more than 3-5 days ?

Some means of defense so somebody else doesn't end up with your BOB.

Silver addiction - with your bug out list, your missing one thing. A vehicle to carry it all. try to get every thing to fit in a back pack and a day bag that can clip to the back pack. Webbing can help you carry more.

You're missing Cayenne Pepper.

Stops all bleeding wounds. Normalizes blood pressure. Prevents frostbite. Cardiovascular stimulant. Stops Heart Attacks.

Also, I'd probably bring a firearm.

Anyone know of treatment or precaution for dear ticks and limes disease?

Bug spray like Deet might work on the ticks. I'm allergic to bug spray, but I always hike in shorts and short sleeves or an exercise bra during tick season. Contrary to all the text that says to wear long pants and long sleeves, I've found that hiking in shorts means I can feel the ticks when they first get on me, so I can pick them off before they sink their little mouths into me.

Lyme disease is miserable. My husband had it years ago. Because it wasn't recognized as having spread to Georgia yet, it wasn't diagnosed until he'd had it about 6 months and was really, really sick.

Try packing all that up a hill or on a 5 mile walk. Look into layering your essentials so that if yo have to drop your main pack youll still have your web belt, butt pack and LBV gear. You list 3 knives and a swiss army knife plus a can opener and nail clippers - combine all that into one tool or knife and save weight. have a spare if you wish. good luck putting it together but packing it all around is an eye opener so use it before you need it so you can decide what to toss and what to keep.
